I selected this model based on the good reviews, and I'm not disappointed. I previously owned the half-round step can, which also worked well from every perspective except one: but my dog figured out to open it. This one closes flush, and there is no way for my dog to nose it open. Love the silent close as well.

This is the best garbage bin I've ever owned. It's nice, solid, and quiet. I like how the lid closes slowly so I can dump trash into it with having to keep my foot on the pedal.
